Meet the Governors

Mr P Cook: Chair - Co-opted Governor

I have been a school governor for 20 years starting when my two children attended school in the 1990s. I have served on many governors’ committees and am now Chair of the Primary Academy. I am a retired local government officer finishing my career in a regeneration department in an east London local authority. I now enjoy photography, gardening and, since retirement, not travelling daily on the Northern Line.

Mr C. Edmunds: Parent Governor

Craig Edmunds is a social care manager for the local authority whose team offers intensive 1:1 support for young people at risk of exclusion from school or placement breakdown within the home. Craig believes in equality for all, particularly the workplace and has been the chairperson for Sutton's Unison branch for approx 4 years, acting as vice chair and steward prior to this. He is active in the community and coaches kickboxing to children and adults. Craig thinks that collaboration is paramount and that together, exploring and challenging our idea's, we give ourselves the best chance of finding great outcomes for our children.

Mr S. Ellingham; Safeguarding Governor

Mrs C. Hadland: Parent Governor

Caroline Hadland has lived in Sutton for over 20 years and has 2 children at Brookfield. Caroline has previously worked as a Human Resources professional and has experience of understanding situations from different viewpoints and providing constructive feedback. As a parent governor Caroline hopes to ensure all children at Brookfield have the opportunity to express themselves and develop their capacity for learning in a creative and supported way.

Mrs D Harris: Co-opted Governor

I’ve been a school governor for over four years serving on the Standards Committee and as literacy governor. Most recently I’ve been working with the Learning Council looking at ways of getting the children to read more for pleasure. My work in a multinational FTSE 100 FMCG company ensures that I can bring the best business practice into the school and help to maintain the very high standards that the school already has. Outside of work and school, my interests are painting, walking and socialising with family and friends.

Dr S. Rudman: Co-opted Governor

Sandra Rudman has been a governor at Brookfield for 8 years and during this time both her sons have attended the school. She believes that all children should be able to get the best education available and as a governor she can challenge and help Brookfield offer this to the pupils.

Professionally, Sandra is a part-time research scientist at King's College London, where she has worked for nearly 20 years. As such, she has been involved with teaching students and is aware of the need to give our children the best start to their education.

Ms P. Wright: Principal (ex-offico) Governor
