School Dinners

Our school hall becomes our dining room, where children in the same class can sit together, whether pack lunch or school dinner. School dinners are cooked daily on site, in our school kitchen. All our meals meet government standards and are nutritionally analysed. From September 2014 children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are entitled to a free school meal. Children in the juniors who require a school dinner must pay in advance through ‘Parent Pay’. Dinners must be booked at least a week in advance. Your child may be entitled to free school meals; please contact the school office for further details.

Free School Meals

Packed lunches

Children may bring a healthy packed lunch. Please clearly label your child’s lunch box.

Children should not bring:

  • Fizzy drinks
  • Cans
  • Glass bottles
  • Sweets
  • Nuts or nut products, including peanut butter ( We have several children with nut allergies and appreciate your support in keeping them safe.)

Healthy Schools Award

Brookfield is proud of its ‘Healthy School’ status and we ask that parents do not send sweets or cakes into school for children’s birthdays.

As we are part of the national fruit scheme, fruit is provided for Early Years and Key Stage One. Key Stage Two pupils may bring in fruit from home to eat at morning break. Children may bring in a bottle of water to drink throughout the day, which should be clearly labelled.
