Physical Education

At Brookfield we believe that Physical Education can make a significant contribution to a child's emotional, intellectual and personal development; particularly their self-esteem.

Each child receives two-hours of timetabled P.E. per week.We focus on teaching children the fundamental movement skills (agility, balance and coordination), enabling children to be ready to use these skills in different sports. The fundamental movement skills are taught through Real PE (for more information about Real PE, please click here) once a week. The skills taught in will be reinforced in the children's second lesson pf the week - which will be a more 'traditional' P.E. lesson (gym, dance, football, netball, basketball etc.).

Engaging children in daily physical adctivity is very important to us at Brookfield. Children are given the opportunity to take part in the Daily Mile, at least three-times a week. For more information on the Daily Mile, please click here. Our Junior Play Leaders have been trained and are on hand at break and lunchtimes to organise fun and active games for everyone to take part in.
